THE PROCESS
A consultation is a structured on-site assessment — not a sales visit. Here is exactly what happens, what you get at the end, and how we use the information.
Call or book online. We come to your property at a scheduled time — not a vague arrival window. The visit is free. You are not committing to any work by scheduling. If your situation is urgent — a tree leaning toward a structure, a recent storm — mention it when you call and we will triage the visit accordingly.
The arborist walks the site with you. They assess each tree you point to — canopy structure, attachment angles, evidence of decay, root zone conditions, pest or disease indicators, and proximity to structures and utilities. You can ask questions throughout. This is a collaborative walk, not a quick glance from the driveway.
At the end of the visit or within 24 hours, you receive a written care plan. Each tree assessed gets a specific recommendation: prune, cable, treat, monitor, or remove — with the reasoning explained in plain language. If we recommend removal, we explain what the alternative outcomes of keeping the tree are. No pressure, no upsell — just an honest written recommendation.
If you want to proceed with any recommended work, we give you an exact written price for each service. You decide what to do with the information. There is no obligation to book any work on the day of the consultation.
One thing we say at the start of every consultation: we are going to tell you what the tree actually needs, not what generates the most work. A written arborist consultation is useful documentation in several insurance contexts. If a tree on your property fails and causes damage, a prior consultation showing the tree was assessed and in sound condition strengthens your position significantly compared to having no documentation at all.
For commercial properties, HOAs, and properties with significant tree assets, a written arborist assessment is the standard of care expected by underwriters. Some policies require it. We provide written consultation reports suitable for insurance, HOA board, and municipal documentation purposes.
