TREE MAINTENANCE PROGRAMS · HONOLULU, HI · OAHU
One-time tree work solves today's problem. A maintenance program prevents the next ten. For HOAs, commercial properties, and multi-unit residential buildings on Oahu, a scheduled annual or semi-annual program is the most cost-effective way to manage a tree inventory over time — because catching a developing limb union problem costs far less than emergency removal after it fails.
Our programs are built around your specific tree inventory. We document what is on the property, establish a health baseline, and build a recurring schedule that covers inspections, routine pruning, palm maintenance, and hazard monitoring. Every visit is logged and reported so you have a paper trail for insurance and HOA board purposes.
Programs are available for residential estates, apartment complexes, shopping centers, and municipal parcels across Honolulu, Kaneohe, Pearl City, and Hawaii Kai. We handle scheduling, documentation, and all fieldwork under one contract.

THE PROCESS
A scheduled maintenance program is a written annual plan — not a reactive call-when-something-looks-wrong approach. Here is how we build and deliver a program for your property.
An ISA Certified Arborist walks your property, assesses every significant tree, and documents the maintenance needs for the year ahead: which trees need pruning and when, which need deadwooding, which need structural assessment, and which need monitoring. The result is a written maintenance calendar specific to your property and your tree species.
You receive a written maintenance program document before any work begins. It specifies which trees are included, what service each tree will receive, and when each visit is scheduled. The annual price is fixed — no surprise add-ons mid-year unless you request additional work outside the program scope. All work is performed to ANSI A300 standards.
We work to the program schedule. If a visit needs to change due to weather or site access, we notify you in advance and reschedule within the same service window. Each visit is performed by the same crew where possible — they know your property and your trees. Residential programs across Kaimuki (96816), Pearl City (96782), and Kaneohe (96744) are typically visited two to four times per year depending on species and scope.
After every visit, you receive a written report: what work was done, what condition changes were observed, and any recommended additions or changes to the program for the next cycle. If a tree develops a new issue between scheduled visits, you call us and we assess it — program clients get priority scheduling.
One honest thing we say upfront: a maintenance program keeps healthy trees healthy and catches problems early — it does not prevent all failures. Oahu's weather creates conditions that occasionally damage even well-maintained trees. What the program gives you is documented due diligence, earlier identification of developing problems, and a direct relationship with an arborist who knows your property.

WHAT WE HANDLE
Program scope is defined by what your specific trees need — not a generic package. We assess before we plan.
Structural and maintenance pruning on a schedule appropriate for each species. Monkeypod and banyan canopies may need annual reduction. Ornamentals and fruit trees may be pruned seasonally. All pruning is to ANSI A300 standards — the right cuts at the right time.
Systematic removal of dead, dying, and structurally compromised branches at each scheduled visit — before they become a falling hazard. On large properties with mature canopy this is the highest-value safety item in the annual program.
At each visit, the crew assesses each tree in the program for new pest or disease indicators, structural changes, root zone disturbance, and post-storm damage. Condition changes are documented in the visit report and flagged if they require action before the next scheduled visit.
HOA communities across Honolulu need documented annual maintenance programs for common-area trees. We manage multi-property programs with a single point of contact, a unified annual schedule, and consolidated reporting for board meetings. COI and documentation are standard.
THE COST OF REACTIVE-ONLY TREE MANAGEMENT
The cost difference between a scheduled deadwooding visit that removes a large dead limb before it falls and an emergency response after that limb falls on a structure is significant — in both money and inconvenience. Scheduled programs catch developing problems when they are still inexpensive to address.
For HOA boards and commercial property managers, the liability exposure from unmanaged common-area trees is a direct financial risk. A documented annual maintenance program with written visit reports provides the due diligence record that insurers and attorneys look for when a tree incident occurs.

A documented annual maintenance program with written visit reports is the most effective tree-related insurance documentation a property owner can have. It shows active management, regular professional assessment, and timely action on identified issues. This documentation is useful in any claim or dispute involving tree condition.
HOA boards managing common-area trees should maintain program records for at least five years. Insurers reviewing claims for tree-related property damage will ask for evidence of maintenance history. We retain copies of all visit reports and program documents and can provide them on request.
Program cost depends on the number of trees included, the services required at each visit, and the number of annual visits. Residential programs with three to eight mature trees typically run one to three annual visits. Large HOA and commercial programs are priced by the scope of work across all included trees. We give you a fixed annual price after the initial property assessment — no open-ended per-visit billing.

The program is defined by what your specific trees need — not a standard package. It typically includes scheduled pruning, annual deadwooding, condition monitoring at each visit, and written reports. Additional services like plant health care treatment, cabling inspections, or stump grinding can be included in the program scope.
A program gives you a written schedule, a fixed price, and a crew that knows your property. Reactive-only management means you notice a problem after it has developed, pay emergency rates, and have no documentation of your maintenance history. Program clients get priority scheduling and lower per-visit costs than one-off jobs.
Yes. If you plant new trees, acquire a new property, or want to add trees that were not in the original scope, we assess the additions and add them to the program with a prorated cost adjustment.
Program clients get priority scheduling for between-visit calls. If one of your program trees shows a new problem — sudden lean, storm damage, visible disease — call us. We assess within 24 hours and tell you whether it requires immediate action or can wait for the next scheduled visit.
Program cost is fixed after the initial property assessment and depends on tree count, services required, and visit frequency. We give you a single annual price before any work begins — no variable billing. Most residential programs are in the range of two to four scheduled visits per year.
